Film Festival App
The goal was to create an intuitive process allowing users to find the films and events they were looking for, purchase tickets, vote for the different audience awards and share their experiences with friends and fellow festival attendees. With more of the film festival taking place on line it is important to help the user to customize the online experience to best meet their needs.

research
I conducted a competitive analysis of international and domestic film festivals web sites. I interviewed people who had a variety of experiences attending film festivals. This was used to create personas, journey maps and prototypes which were used in usability studies.
Users wanted to find films of interest to them and purchase tickets. They also wanted to feel involved with the festival by voting for audience awards and sharing their experience with friends and fellow attendees.
site map
Film Festival sites have a large amount of information they are trying to present. By organizing the site in a logical way it is easier for the user to find what they are looking for.

Impact:
There have been changes to film festivals during the pandemic. Most films are streaming online. We wanted to ensure that the process to watch and vote for films was intuitive, and create an environment where the user was engaged with the film community.
What I learned:
Everyone has their own way of finding the films they are interested in. They want options on how they purchase tickets and watch their films.
